Kickoff Sunday
September 8th is Kickoff Sunday! Join us for worship at 10am then stay for brunch in the backyard picnic shelter! We'll share a pulled pork lunch, live music, and fellowship around the table at this celebration of the church's start to the new program year! We've also rented a giant inflatable bounce house/obstacle course for the kids to enjoy!
Flapjacks & Flannels Pancake Breakfast
Who doesn't love fall?!?! Wear your favorite flannel and join us for an all-church pancake breakfast in the Fellowship Hall before worship!
Trunk or Treat
Join us for our annual Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 31 from 10:00am to noon! Trunk or Treat gives families the opportunity to dress up and trick or treat in a fun, safe environment! Enjoy a morning of activities, treats, cookie decorating, and hot chocolate! Trunk or Treat is a free community event. Please invite your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers!
If you’d like to participate beyond attending, there are several ways to help make this event a success:
- Donate Candy – You can drop off individually packaged candy in the church office during the week or in The Gathering on Sunday morning.
- Decorate a Trunk – Volunteer to decorate a trunk with a fun theme for the kids to enjoy!
Christmas Breakfast and Ginger Bread House Decorating
Join us in the Fellowship Hall for an All-Church Christmas Breakfast and Gingerbread House Decorating at 9:00am Sunday, November 29 before worship!
Sara Groves Christmas Concert
Come join us for a joyful night of music featuring songs & stories from singer/songwriter Sara Groves! Sara will be performing songs from her Christmas albums O Holy Night and Joy of Every Longing Heart. You won't want to miss this meaningful night of music at West Des Moines Christian Church!

All Church Work Day
The church has a growing list of projects we're hoping to complete as we look toward the changing of the season. Many hands make light work... and more fun work! There will be plenty of tasks for everyone regardless of ability, so if you're free the evening of Tuesday, September 1st, we hope you'll make plans to pitch in!
Blessing of the Backpacks
School is back in session and the church wants to wish all our teachers and students a fun, safe, and meaningful year of learning! Join us in worship Sunday, August 30th for the blessing of the backpacks! We'll pray over all our teachers and students and hand out tags with a prayer to attach to backpacks/bags.
