Church School

Since Jesus' time, learning has always been an important part of discipleship, as it's a way for us to grow deeper in our faith through questions and study.  Below, you can check out the Christian education opportunities available each Sunday for disciples of all ages.

Children classes

Children's Sunday School -- This program (for age 4 through 4th grade) is a fun and interactive way to learn God's Word through five learning centers: 1) Bible Story, 2) Craft, 3) Mission/Activity, 4) Food & Science, and 5) Bible Story Video.  The program begins at 9:30 am in the Gym Bldg. (Room 122) with a time of singing, celebration, and offering before kids break out into the different centers.  After a five-week rotation through the centers, children will have explored a particular Bible story through a variety of hands-on experiences.  At 10:15 am the children return to Room 122 where parents can pick them up.

Membership Class (5th Graders) -- All children entering fifth grade (and any unbaptized youth) are invited to join this special class meeting each Sunday morning (during the school year) from 9:30 am - 10:15 am in the Gym Bldg. (Room 124).  This class explores the foundations of the Christian faith and issues relevant to today's youth.  The group also meets on Wednesdays (4:00 - 5:00 pm) for a time of discussion led by Pastor Randy, focusing on faith, hope, prayer, communion, baptism, and the beliefs of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  As we explore what it means to be followers of Jesus Christ, we will welcome special guest speakers, participate in community service projects, embark on amazing field trips, and learn through fun activities.

Nursery -- During the Church School hour, 3 year-olds can participate in a mini lesson and craft.  The Nursery check-in office is located in the front entry of the Gym Bldg.

Youth classes

Chi-Rho and CYF Sunday School classes provide opportunities for youth to engage Scripture and some of the difficult questions about what it means to be disciples of Christ in the 21st century.

Chi-Rho (Grades 6-8) -- This group's name comes from the Greek letters "XP," the first letters of the Greek words for "Jesus Christ."  This class, taught by Michele Ramsey, meets in the Fellowship Hall Bldg. (Room 312).

CYF (Grades 9-12) -- "CYF" is an acronym for "Christian Youth Fellowship."  This class, taught by Shelly Nelson, meets in the Youth Room in the lower level of the Sanctuary Bldg. beneath the gathering area.

Adult classes

Crossroads -- As professionals or folks just starting out in life, we’re all seeking ways to live our faith beyond the church pew.  Whether you have kids at home, or still feel like a kid yourself, we can all learn and laugh with one another in this class as we figure out how to bring our faith to life in our very busy, everyday lives. We hope you’ll join us in the Gym Bldg. (Room 110)!

Connections -- This discussion class led by Dr. Randy Ehrhardt and class members looks at current topics/issues from a faith and scriptural perspective.  From social media to instant forms of communication; from a difficult economy to an ever-changing world; from challenges for young people to new questions in science, health, government, society and life, it is important to connect with a community of faith for support, encouragement, conversation, education, and prayer.  Join us in the Gym Bldg. (Room 113) as we discuss how our faith meets the world.

Y.E.S. Group (Young Energetic Seniors) -- This class draws together scriptures, current events, and the life of faith in a discussion-style format led by Ron Townsend and other Y.E.S. members.  All seniors are welcome to join us each Sunday in the Fellowship Hall Bldg. (Room 303).  Throughout the year, this group also meets for social and mission events, including monthly breakfasts.

Good Fellowship -- This multi-generational Bible study class led by Rev. Alice Bolen is open to all adults and meets in the Library of the Fellowship Hall Bldg. (Room 311).

Occasional Combined Series -- Adult Church School classes occasionally join together for special all-church series.
