Service opportunities—West Des Moines Christian Church is committed to reach out to the world with God's spirit of love. We seek ways to share ministry with our members, our city and our world. We provide a variety of outreach opportunities that enable individuals or groups to respond to that call both locally and globally.

Adult Church School Classes (Sundays from 10-10:45 a.m.)
Y.E.S. (Young Energetic Seniors): This class pursues a variety of topics and biblical, spiritual, and life issues in a discussion-style format. This class is open to all adults, with the focus on those in the 50+ age group. Y.E.S. meets in Room 303, in the Fellowship Hall buildingl.
Good Fellowship: This Bible study class led by Rev. Alison Robuck, focuses on the 70+ age group, though all adults are welcome. They meet in the library in the Fellowship Hall building.
Connections: Led by Dr. Randy Ehrhardt, this class provides educational and social opportunities for singles and couples who are still in their working years. The class meets in the Fellowship Hall.

| Wednesday night dinners—A series of fall and Lenten dinners and entertainment for the entire congregation. |
Y.E.S.—Young Energetic Seniors provides fellowship opportunities for people age 50+. Besides Sunday morning church school, they have monthly breakfasts and frequent social and service events.
Golden Mixers—A social gathering and devotion time for seniors age 55+. The group meets several times a year for trips in and out of the city, parties and fun activities at the church.
Chore Corps and Helping Hands—Retired men and women who meet weekly to help with projects around the church. |

Disciples Men—A men's group meeting monthly for breakfast, seeking ways to share their faith, participate in work projects and support the youth going to camp at the Christian Conference Center in Newton, Iowa through various fundraisers throughout the year.
Connections—provides fellowship and learning opportunities for single and married adults still in their working years, including Sunday Church School, social gatherings, family outings and weekend retreats, picnics, sports activities, service projects and more. |
Sports teams—The gym provides the opportunity for volleyball leagues, basketball and other sports throughout the year.
Parents' Night Out A monthly childcare co-op. Two sets of parents stay each time as payment for having the other nights out. Using a rotating schedule, parents take a turn once or twice during the year. Children play in the gym and watch a movie. The program through May from 6-10 p.m.

Women's Ministries—Women's Ministries provides worship, personal enrichment and small group activities. Events include:Disciples Women, Annual Holiday Show & Sale, Ladies Spring Luncheon, Annual Garage Sale, Loaf Ministry, New Possibilities, Women's Current Issues Book Group, The Quilting Group, Helping Hands, Food Ministry, Card Ministry, Prayer Shawl Ministry and more... Through Women's Ministries programs, women find friendship and support for their journey of faith. |
Monday Night Bible Study All are welcome at this casual Bible study group for those who enjoy covering a wide range of topics including specific books of the Bible, favorite Bible stories, missionaries, or specific topics such as ‘Do You Walk the Walk You Talk?’ The group meets on Monday nights from September into May. The Bible Study is from 7-8:30 p.m.
Child care can be provided with advance notice.
Game Day is for all who enjoy playing a variety of games, fellowship and refreshments. The group meets on the 3rd Tuesday each month @ 1 p.m. in FH-303. This ministry is suspended until spring.
Couples Bible Study This small group Bible and book study is for all dating and married couples meeting Wednesdays at
7 p.m. through March in the Fellowship Hall building, room 311. Childcare is always provided. The current study is Love and Respect. |
Vision and Chancel ChoirVision sings at the 8:45 a.m. service. Chancel Choir sings at the 11:00 service. On special Sundays, there are combined choir opportunities. Chancel Choir rehearses at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, and Vision rehearses at 8 a.m. Sunday mornings. Open to adults and youth grades 9-12 and all levels of singing.
Resonance Bell Ensemble This ensemble is open to all adults who would like to play handbells. The group plays for special worship occasions. Rehearsals are Wednesdays evenings at 6:30.
